JOSAH is published by the Australian Society for Asian Humanities (ASAH), the oldest Australian scholarly society with an Asian focus. Founded by Professor A.R. Davis (University of Sydney) in 1956 as the Oriental Society of Australia, it became the Australian Society for Asian Humanities in 2020. ASAH promotes the knowledge of Asia in Australia through the annual Davis Lecture, regular seminars and its journal, JOSAH: Journal of the Society for Asian Humanities (formerly JOSA: Journal of the Oriental Society of Australia). The journal has been published continuously since 1960 and is widely subscribed and accessible through EBSCO and Informit.
